Request Board (Provider)

The same Request Board consumers see (/feed-requests) is your read on market demand: which datasets the community is asking for and how strongly (votes, recency).

How to use it

  • Scan Hot vs Latest to see sustained interest versus new asks.
  • Read the full request before committing effort; good descriptions reduce back-and-forth and scope creep.
  • Claim to build (when signed in) to signal that you intend to work on that request. Claims are visible to the community as provider interest, not a contract. Use them honestly: unclaim if you are no longer pursuing the line item.
  • Prioritize high-vote, well-specified requests that match your sourcing rights and publishing standards.
  • Look for Bounties. Many requests include an Intended Bounty (in USD). This is a direct signal of what a consumer is prepared to pay for this specific feed.
  • Bounties as Demand Signal

The Intended Bounty on a request is your most direct market indicator:

  • It helps you estimate the Return on Investment (ROI) for building a feed.
  • It highlights high-value opportunities where the community has explicitly stated their willingness to pay.
  • While the bounty is non-binding, a high bounty combined with many votes is a strong sign of a sustainable revenue stream.
  • Relationship to your catalog

  • Turning a request into revenue usually means shipping a feed through the normal provider workflow (schema, sync, pricing, compliance), then listing it on Feeds.
  • The Request Board does not auto-create feeds or contracts; it aligns what you build with what users asked for.
  • Etiquette

  • Do not claim requests as a placeholder without intent to progress.
  • Respect data license and sourcing rules in Data License and Publishing Guidelines regardless of demand.
  • Consumer-facing summary

For how end users vote and submit requests, see Request Board (Consumer).
